Description:

Clarithromycin is an antibiotic of the macrolide family and is a semisynthetic derivative of erythromycin.

Indications:

Pharyngitis, Sinusitis and otitis media, chronic bronchitis, Pneumonia, Skin and soft tissue infection, Mycobacterial infections, Adjunct in the treatment of duodenal ulcers for the eradication of H. pylori.

Clarithromycin shows bactericidal activity by inhibiting protein synthesis.
