\n \nSimethicone USP \n \nComposition :?Simethicone USP 67mg/ml Paediatric Drop. \n \nIndication :?Flatulence, abdominal distention, fullness, gas and windy colic: Semecon is an excellent and effective antiflatulent. It is used for relief of the painful symptoms of excess gas in the digestive tract. Semecon drop is especially used in infants. Large bowel preparation : Addition of Semecon to a polyethylene glycol bowel preparation produces symptomatic improvement prior to investigation in patients undergoing colonoscopy. Treatment of poisoning : Semecon has an anecdotal use as an antifoaming agent in the management of accidental ingestion of foaming detergents. \n \nDosage and administration :?Take after meals and at bedtime. Can be given with infant's feeds. Shake the bottle well before each use. Children less than 2 years of age : 20mg (0.3ml Semecon drops) 4 times daily up to 240mg (3.6ml Semecon drops)/day. Children 2 - 12 years of age : 40mg (0.6ml Semecon drops) 4 times daily. Adults : 40 - 80mg (0.6 - 1.2ml Semecon drops) 4 times daily, up to 500mg (7.5ml Semecon drops)/day. \n \nUse in pregnancy and lactation :?Administration of drugs during pregnancy and lactation should only be considered if the expected benefit to the mother is greater than any possible risk to the foetus or child. There is insufficient experience of the use of Salmeterol Xinafoate and Fluticasone Propionate in human pregnancy and lactation.
