Description

\nZorate is a preparation of Zinc Orotate which is a chelated form of zinc found in the human body in trace amounts. Zinc is one of the most essential elements as per body requirement. Orotate (the mineral salt of orotic acid) is a biochemical substance made by all living cells. It is a necessary raw material for making the genetic material: RNA and DNA. Orotic acid assists the transport of zinc through cellular membrane structures, facilitating the intracellular uptake of zinc. Zinc orotate has increased bioavailability over other forms of zinc because of its chelated form. \n \n

Indications

\nOral zinc therapy is indicated in zinc deficiency and/or zinc losing conditions like-Hair loss, , Skin rashes, Major depression, Loss of smell, taste and memory, White spots on the fingernails, Increased susceptibility to infection, Loss of activity of growth hormone (GH), Adults: One tablet twice daily with meal. Visual impairment, Hypogonadism, Diarrhea, Male infertility, Sickle cell anemia, Delayed wound healing, Type 2- diabetes. \n \n

Dosage & Administration

\nAdults: One tablet twice daily with meal. \n \n

Side Effects

\nZinc might cause nausea, vomiting, metallic taste and stomach upset etc. \n \n

\n

Precautions

\nPatients with diabetes & acute renal failure should use zinc products cautiously. \n \n

\n

Use in Pregnancy & Lactation

\nIt should be used in pregnant or lactating mother after consultation with a health care professional. \n \n

\n

Drug Interaction

\nConcomitant intake of tetracycline, quinolone and penicillamine along with zinc may decrease the absorption of both drugs. \n \n

\n

Over Dose

\nTaking doses higher than 40 mg (elemental zinc) daily might cause fever, cough, upset stomach. \n \n

\n

Storage

\nStore in a cool and dry place, away from light & moisture. Keep out of the reach of children. \n \n
