\n \nPhenytoin USP \n \nComposition :?Phenytoin USP 100mg Tablet. \n \nIndications :?Phenytoin is an anticonvulsant which is used in the treatment of status epilepticus of the grandmal type. It may also be used in the prevention and treatment of seizures occur during neurosurgery. \n \nDosage and administration :?Adults: 150-300mg (as a single dose or in 2 divided doses) daily increased to 400mg (Maximum 600mg/day) daily in divided doses or 3-4mg/kg daily in divided doses. For adult patients (who have received no previous medication) the treatment is one tablet three times daily. Children: Initially, 5mg/kg per day in two or three equally dosage with subsequent dosage individualized to a maximum 300mg daily. A recommended daily maintenance dosage is usually 4 to 8 mg/kg.
