Description

\nTimozin (Tiemonium Methylsulfate) is a synthetic anticholinergic-antispasmodic drug. \n \n

\n

Indications

\nTimozin is an antispasmodic drug. It reduces muscle spasms of the intestine, biliary system, bladder and uterus. Timozin is indicated for pain in gastrointestinal and biliary diseases and in urology and gynaecology such as gastroenteritis, diarrhoea, dysentery, biliary colic, enterocolitis, cholecystitis, colonopathies, mild cystitis and spasmodic dysmenorrhoea. \n \n

Dosage & Administration

\nTablet: The usual dosages of Timozin are 2 to 6 tablets (100-300 mg) daily in divided doses as required. \nInjection: 1 ampoule by slow IV/IM injection 3 times daily. \n \n

Side Effects

\nTiemonium Methylsulfate INN may have some undesirable effects in certain individuals like risk of hypotension and tachycardia especially in case of injection. \n \n

\n

Precautions

\nPrecautions should be exercised for treatment of patients with disorders of the prostate, serious diseases of the kidney or liver, cardiac disorders, thyroid disorders, chronic bronchitis and certain gastrointestinal diseases. The risks of visual disturbances can make it dangerous to drive or use machines. \n \n

Use in Pregnancy & Lactation

\nThe use of this drug is not recommended during pregnancy & lactation, unless otherwise indicated by physician. \n \n

Over Dose

\nIn the case of overdose, seek medical attention \n \n

\nStore in a cool and dry place, protected from light. \n \n

\nTimozin tablet: Each box contains 5 blister strips of 10 tablets. \nTimozin IV/IM injection: Each box contains 5 ampoules of 2 ml. \n \n
