\nEach ml contains Clotrimazole BP 10 mg.
\n \nDescription
\nClotrimazole is a broad-spectrum antifungal agent that is used for the treatment of dermal infections caused by various species of pathogenic dermatophytes, yeasts, and Malassezia furfur.
\n \nThe primary action of clotrimazole is against dividing and growing organisms. Clotrimazole inhibits ergosterol synthesis, resulting in abnormal cellular permeability.
\n \nThis inhibits fungal growth. It has also antibacterial activity.
\n \nIndications
\nClarizol Ear Drop is indicated for the treatment of fungal infections of the ear.
\n \nDosage & Administration
\nInstill 2-3 drops of Clarizol Ear Drops in the affected ear two or three times daily.
\n \nThe treatment should be continued for at least two weeks after the disappearance of all signs of infection to prevent re-infection.
\n \nSide Effects
\nClotrimazole is generally well tolerated after local application but the few side effects have been reported infrequently like erythema, stinging, edema, pruritus and general irritation.
\n \nPrecautions
\nIf local intolerance develops, consider withdrawal of the medicine and institution of appropriate therapy. Clotrimazole ear drop is not intended for ophthalmic use.
\n \nUse in Pregnancy & Lactation
\nPregnancy:
\nClotrimazole is recommended during pregnancy only after first consulting a doctor.
\n \nLactation:
\nBecause systemic absorption of clotrimazole following topical application is marginal, there should be no risk for the infant during lactation.
\n \nDrug Interaction
\nThere have been reports of a heat reaction when this medication used concomitantly with Sofradex drops in the ear.
\n \nOver Dose
\nIn case of accidental oral ingestion, supportive measures should be taken.
\n \nStorage
\nProtect from light, store in cool & dry place.
\nKeep out of the reach of children.
\nProtect from freezing.
\nDo not use more than 4 weeks after opening.
