Presentation:

Bepotas Sterile Eye Drops: Each ml contains Bepotastine Besilate INN 15 mg. Preservative: Sodium Perborate BP 0.01%.

Pharmacology:

Bepotastine is a direct H1-receptor antagonist and an inhibitor of the release of histamine from mast cells.

Indication:
\n
Bepotas Sterile Ophthalmic Solution is indicated for the treatment of itching associated with signs and symptoms of allergic conjunctivitis.
\n
\n
\n \n
Dosage & Administration:
\n
Instill 1 drop into the affected eye(s) twice a day.
\n
\n

Warning & Precautions:
\n
Before using Bepotastine, tell your doctor if you are allergic to it. Bepotastine should not be used to treat contact lens-related irritation. Remove contact lenses prior to instillation of Bepotastine.

Side effects:
\n
Reported side effect is a mild taste in the mouth. Other side effects are eye irritation, headache, and nasopharyngitis.

Use in special groups:
\n
Use in pregnancy: Pregnancy category C. There are no adequate and well-controlled studies in pregnant women. Bepotastine Besilate 1.5% Ophthalmic Solution should be used during pregnancy only if the potential benefit justifies the potential risk to the fetus. Use in lactation: It is not known whether Bepotastine Besilate is excreted in human milk. So, caution should be exercised when Bepotastine Besilate 1.5% Ophthalmic Solution is administered to a nursing woman. Use in children: Safety and effectiveness in pediatric patients under 2 years of age have not been established. Use in elderly patients: No overall difference in safety or effectiveness has been observed between elderly and younger patients.
