\n \nComposition?: \n \nCapsule 250 : Ampicillin 250 mg. \n \nInjection 250 : Ampicillin 250 mg. \n \nInjection 500 : Ampicillin 500 mg. \n \n  \n \nIndications?: Respiratory tract infections : Tonsillitis, pharyngitis, laryngitis, bronchitis, pneumonia, otitis media, bron-chiectasis. \n \nGastrointestinal tract infections : Typhoid, paratyphoid, bacillary dysentery, gastroenteritis. \n \nGenitourinary tract infections : Cystitis, pyelitis, pyelonephritis, prostatitis and gonococcal urethritis. \n \nOther infections : Post operative infections, septicaemia, dental infections, endocarditis, meningitis, osteomyelitis. \n \n  \n \nDosage & Administration?: Oral dosage : Infections of the ear, nose, throat and respiratory tract infections : Adults : 250 mg every 6 hours. \n \nChildren : 50 mg/kg/day in divided doses every 6 - 8 hours. \n \nGenitourinary tract infections: \n \nAdults : 500 mg every 6 hours. Larger doses may be required for severe infections. \n \nChildren : 100 mg/kg/day in divided doses every 6 hours. \n \nGonorrhoea : 3.5 g with 1 g of Probenecid as a single dose. \n \nGastrointestinal tract infections : \n \nAdults : 500 mg every 6 hours. \n \nChildren : 100 mg / kg / day in divided doses every 6 hours. \n \n  \n \nBy intramuscular injection or intravenous injection or infusion : \n \nAdults : 500 mg every 4 - 6 hours, higher doses in meningitis. \n \nChildren, under 10 years : half of the adult dose. \n \n
